Good luck!Katherinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04687248923547966231noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-136242079097981599.post-10188681825472863592016-08-06T16:56:05.770-04:002016-08-06T16:56:05.770-04:00Thank you! For the most part I do like the 30 Day thing I'm doing, but I want to look for modifications for some of the moves so I don't spend the whole time flopping around trying to get in certain positions lol.Natalie Pataliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03499108834853503737noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-136242079097981599.post-92196273999315175562016-08-04T05:44:31.343-04:002016-08-04T05:44:31.343-04:00I took yoga at college for a phys ed credit, and o...I took yoga at college for a phys ed credit, and our instructor was actually a fairly beefy woman's rugby? lacrosse? coach who was into it for the "chill out" benefits rather than the "strength and flex gains" benefits, so I had a really gentle and accepting first experience with it. Better than all of the skinny white ladies you usually see leading classes at gyms.

I haven't taken a class since then; I just keep doing Sun Salutations on my own. It's a familiar routine and I know how each asana should feel so I know I'm not hurting myself. I try to do them daily (one of my 101 in 1001 goals) but I definitely fall down on the job a lot.

There are lots of body-posi and diverse yoginis out there. Curvy Yoga gets recommended a lot. Jessamyn Stanley is also cool but she does vinyasa flow which is a little more intense than normal. YouTube channels like CurveSome Yoga and Body Positive Yoga have suggestions for modifications. If you look up "chair yoga" on YouTube you can also find lots of modifications.Katherinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04687248923547966231noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-136242079097981599.post-81663506299030365132016-08-04T00:54:28.514-04:002016-08-04T00:54:28.514-04:00*moves, not movies. I do a lot of walking though??!

I didn't know you did yoga!! Do you use videos or do you just do your own thing? My fitness group is doing 30 Days of Yoga right now, and it's my first real venture in yoga (though I've wanted to learn more about it for a long time). I want to like it, but it sure is kicking my butt. I know most of it is just because I'm new at it, but it's like half the movies I can't do just because I'm too big! Like I can't reach far enough because my boobs or tum is in the way. Trying to stay positive but it sure is discouraging hahah.Natalie Pataliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03499108834853503737noreply@blogger.com
